Your Eco Clothing Habits

Start from today

Remember, even the smallest things go a long way in life. If we do things together we can make big differences.

Extend life cycle of your clothes

According to WRAP UK by extending the life cycle of the clothing by 9 months you will be reducing its carbon, water and waste footprints by around 20-30%.

If you own something that’s longer than 9 months, congratulations.

You’re already doing it!

Repair your clothes

It’s not a bad idea to invest in a sewing kit and to repair your clothes.

It saves you the hassle of going to a clothing alteration stores if you know how to do it yourself. Plus, you can save money.

My first job after graduating fashion was clothing alterations and dressmaking. If you don’t know how, that’s okay. Just ask me for tips here.

Swap, donate, or resell

Save it from going to the landfill.

If you have something in your wardrobe you’re not wearing anymore, why not swap with your friends, donate to op shops or resell it on a market place?

Facebook and Ebay can be useful platforms for reselling.

Sometimes when I have something that’s too old to even donate, I just cut them and make into rags.

Do you really want it?

You’re in a shop. You’re tempted. Ask yourself twice.

Is this something I would wear for a while? If that’s a yes, go for it. I’m so picky with these things, I have to absolutely love it before I make a purchase.

Sustainability is all about carrying on with our lives without harming any living animals and the environment.

With all the conveniences in our lives we are now putting more waste.

As the population grows, it becomes more and more important to maintain the quality of the land we live on. For you, for me, and all of us.
